Diets to Loose Weight
Did you recently look in the mirror
and really take a look at yourself? Did you see a picture that
someone else took of you? Were you startled by your appearance and
decided it is time to go on a diet? There are many diets to loose
weight that you can consider following. When you begin looking you
may become so overwhelmed with the options that you aren’t sure where to start. Remember when looking at diets to loose weight that you should consider those
that will not be temporary, but will be a whole lifestyle change.
Those that are a whole lifestyle change are more likely to be something that you will stick with long
term.
The Atkins Diet is a very popular
diet with people trying to reach many different goal weights. This
diet is one that is high in protein and low in carbohydrates for the most part. You lose weight very rapidly with the Atkins diet because you are not eating
all that much in the way of carbohydrates, so the body has to tap into fat reserves for the energy to get
through the day. The diet is very specific about what foods are
appropriate and what are not, so it makes it quite straight forward. This is a diet to choose if you are looking for a radical change to your
eating habits and weight.
The ADA diet is a diet that is
set forth by the American Diabetes Association. This diet is very balanced and is lower in carbs than
traditional diets, but is not a low carb diet. It is balanced to provide all of the vitamins and minerals that
are needed to an individual so that they can live healthy while also keeping their glucose in
check.
The South Beach Diet is another
controlled type diet like the Atkins Diet. In fact, it is quite
similar to the Atkins Diet in many ways, except the carb ratios are slightly different. Like the Atkins Diet, this is a great diet for you if you are looking not to
lose weight and then go back to your old lifestyle, but to really change your lifestyle to something that is
healthier overall.
As you can see, there are different
diets to choose from. You should consider your eating preferences,
your goals, and how you would like to change your life before choosing one. When you treat a diet like a temporary way of eating you may lose the weight,
but as soon as you go back to your old habits you will simply gain the weight back.
